DIY raised Dog Bed

Quick post before visiting the Sandman!

Today in the midst of our kitchen reno, we were getting burned out, so changed gears.

It took one hour and one sheet of plywood with left over pieces.

I had a shelving unit that I repurposed into one dog bed rather easily and for free. But having two beautiful Long Coated German Shepherds, I needed another one. I still need to make the cushions I want, which means I wil have to face my fear of sewing machines real soon, and it still needs to be painted.

The free one is 4′ long, the new one is 3′ long to fit my space and dog size. Both are 16″ tall.

Here is my boy, snoozing on the new one with the free one in the background.

I have storage under both to hide away all of my clutter. Under the new one I am using wooden crates to stash their backpacks, leashes, collars, poop bags, toys and whatever else needs to be put away out of sight. LOVE it!

As soon as the kitchen is put back together, I will be starting a build. I won’t give away my plans now but here is a hint. You are welcome, even encouraged, to take a guess at what I am planning. I will say this: For the DIYer’s out there, I am hoping this will be one you won’t want to miss! (PS…the picture is only one portion of materials I will be using and can be misleading!)
